Acapela Group and HelpiCare unveil new high-quality version of Italian synthetic children’s voices

Acapela Group, a global leader in digital voice technology and an independent subsidiary of Tobii Dynavox, have released a new version of the popular Italian voices Aurora and Alessio in collaboration with the Italian client Helpicare. The announcement was made by Acapela Group this week at the Exposanita Health Care Exhibition in Bologna in Italy. The new voice versions are demonstrated on Tobii Dynavox communication devices at the Helpicare booth.

The voices of Aurora and Alessio support Italian children with disabilities, such as autism or cerebral palsy, needing a voice in Italian that reflects their age. With the new improved high-quality version, users will be able to better express their thoughts and needs with a solution that draws on machine learning technology and neural networks to generate even more realistic voices.

Acapela Group is a leading provider of speech synthesis and digital voice solutions, based on AI, machine learning and neural networks. The company creates authentic voices for all ages, for children, women and men, with lifelike tonality to express emotions. Acapela Group has a unique repertoire of over 140 digital voices in more than 30 languages. Over 20 of them are children’s voices.

In April, Tobii Dynavox completed the acquisition of Acapela Group, to accelerate the pace of joint innovation and development of solutions for speech synthesis as a vital part of assistive technology for communication.
